Message I have a Greddy Profec B Spec II boost controller, on my 93 TT convertible with Sport 700 turbos. It has been used for maybe 20k miles. It worked fine for a year, then started malfunctioning. I didn't realize the boost control solenoid was supposed to be mounted in a cool place (it was near the firewall). So I moved it up by the JWT popchargers where it's cool, & it worked fine again for about a year. Then it started malfunctioning again. So last fall, I bought a new boost control valve, because I figured that was the likely problem. And it seemed to work fine again for a month or so, until I put it away for the winter. Now it's been malfunctioning again, ever since I started driving it this year. So I'm assuming there is some other problem, & the boost valve was never the problem. What it's doing, is when I have it set on high boost, it over boosts. No matter how low the controller is set, it boosts to over 20 psi. When I have it set on low boost, it boosts at 11.6 pounds, no matter where I have the controller set. So it's kind of working, when you switch from high to low boost. But changing the boost settings does nothing. Do I have another bad boost valve? Any suggestions? I am on my way to a Rammstein concert shortly (which is going to kick ass), so I likely won't be able to check back until tomorrow :-) If anyone has had a similar problem, or has suggestions on what this might be, I would really appreciate it. It's not nearly as much fun to drive it on low boost, @ 11.6 psi, as it would be @ 17.5, where it's usually set.
